Mimbo
Made for kids 6 to 9 · run by grown-ups

Say an idea. Watch your own cartoon.

Mimbo turns your child's ideas into real animated episodes, starring the characters they create. It writes the story, draws the world, records the voices and scores the music.

Private by default. No ads, no chat. See how it works

How it works

From one sentence to a cartoon of their own.

1

Say it, type it or build it.

Kids speak their idea (it turns into text right on the device), type it, or build it step by step: the hero, the place, the friends and what happens.

2

Loopy makes the movie.

Mimbo writes the story, draws every scene, records the voices and adds music. Loopy, their little helper, shows each stage as it happens.

Watch it together.

Episodes land in the family library with captions. Continue the story, change the ending, or share one with a grown-up's okay.

The cast

Characters they design, in every episode.

Thirteen real species, from dragons and robots to penguins and owls, plus people of every kind. Kids pick the colors, the name and the personality, and the dragon they design is the dragon in the film.

The star

They're the star of every story.

Kids build a cartoon version of themselves, from hair and skin tone to outfit and extras, and it joins every episode. With a grown-up's permission, a photo can become their own cartoon face. The original photo is deleted, and the face stays in the family's private episodes.

The studio

Their own animation studio.

Making episodes earns studio XP. Three small jobs a day, props for every creature and place they use, and gear for Loopy as they rise through the ranks. No timers, no streaks to lose and no comparing with other kids.

For grown-ups

Safe by design. You decide.

Private by default

Episodes stay in your family. Nothing is shared unless you approve it and it passes a safety review.

Checked before anyone sees it

Every idea, story and finished episode goes through safety checks first.

Photos stay private

An original photo is never shown or published.

No ads. No chat.

No advertising and no messages between users. Purchases and links out of the app sit behind the parent gate.

Screen time and bedtime

Daily limits, bedtime, voice ideas, sharing and purchases are switches in the Parent Zone.

See what they make

An activity timeline shows what they made, typed, watched and asked for.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers.

Kids of about 6 to 9 make the episodes. A grown-up creates the family account, adds each child and stays in charge of what's switched on.

No. They can say their idea out loud (voice ideas are a switch in the Parent Zone), and most choices are pictures. Speech turns into text on the device; no recordings are kept.

Short episodes run about a minute. The Family plan adds episodes of about 2 minutes, and Studio about 4.

Photos are optional and need your permission. A photo is turned into a cartoon face, the original is deleted, and the face is used only in your family's private episodes. It's never published.

Twenty, including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Korean and Chinese.

Yes. In the Parent Zone, Privacy & data lets you export your family's data or delete a creator or the whole account.

Coming soon to iPhone, iPad and Android.
